Our Philosophy

At Pawsitive Reinforcement In-Home Training, our goal is to help you replace unwanted behaviors (for instance, jumping or pulling on a leash) with positive behaviors. Positive behaviors get recognized and rewarded. If you were given $100 every time you did a good job at work, you would want to do it over and over again. The same goes for your dog! We all like recognition when we do a good job!

To make this happen for you and your dog, we use the method of Clicker Training. Clicker Training is a system of positive reinforcement training.  Your dog learns that the behavior he is doing at the time he hears the click is correct and he will earn a reward. Therefore, this training method is ideal for training both puppies and older dogs. 

Using a clicker allows you to mark the precise moment your dog offers the desired behavior. It is the precision of marking the behavior which makes clicker training so effective.  It's a Win-Win!
